Road closures are in place after a person was hit and killed by a vehicle in Scottsdale early Saturday morning.

Scottsdale police were called to investigate the collision near Scottsdale Road and Fanfol Drive, south of Shea Boulevard, just after 5:30 a.m.

While details remain limited at this time, investigators confirm that the pedestrian died at the scene. The driver involved remained at the crash scene.

Southbound Scottsdale Road will be closed at Mountain View Road for several hours. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use Hayden Road as an alternate route.
